Wild Is Life & ZEN Wild Is Life: Wildlife Rescue
Wild Is Life is a highly rated wildlife orphanage, rescue, and rehabilitation centre located just outside Harare, Zimbabwe. Founded in 1998 by Roxy Danckwerts, the sanctuary provides a critical second chance for injured, orphaned, and abandoned African wildlife. It is also home to the Zimbabwe Elephant Nursery (ZEN), the country’s first dedicated elephant nursery, which works in partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to rescue orphaned calves and eventually rewild them into protected ecosystems.

The sanctuary limits guest numbers to prioritise animal welfare, offering a deeply personal, educational, and ethical experience. All proceeds from visitor fees directly fund the daily operations, rescue missions, and medical care of the animals.
